WHEELCHAIR PROJECT

Wheelchair Project 2

PROVIDING DISABLED PERSONS WITH SPECIALIZED WHEELCHAIRS

Pakistan has approximately 3.2 million disabled individuals according to the UN in 2015. Of these, approximately 20% have a physical disability (1). Within this population of disabled persons, women and children are the most vulnerable. As part of our larger mission and vision, we are fundraising for a small project where we hope to provide 110 wheelchairs to physically disabled persons in Pakistan. By providing wheelchairs, we grant people mobility and independence, empowering them to take control of their lives and well-being.

We are partnering with the Wheelchair Foundation of the United States and NOWPDP of Pakistan to provide disabled persons with specialized wheelchairs.  The Wheelchair Foundation will be producing the wheelchairs for our patients and handling the logistics of getting them to Pakistan. They produce high quality wheelchairs that are built to withstand conditions in third world countries. NOWPDP will handle the storage and logistics of the wheelchairs within Pakistan. They have a vast network of healthcare professionals and patients within Pakistan, and we will be using their network to deliver the wheelchairs to those most in need.
